EVERY home in the Isle of Man will receive a new leaflet giving essential information about this year's TT races.
Aimed specifically at residents, the A4-size colour guide produced by the new Department of Economic Development is to be given to all of the Island's 40,918 households.
The handout starts on Monday, May 24, and is being undertaken by Isle of Man Post.
The new guide features clearly written advice on how to enjoy this year's TT including information on prohibited and restricted areas, livestock and pets.
It also contains information on road safety, road closures, the one-way system on the mountain, and has a full list of the crossing points which will be in operation during this year's TT.
Details are also included about how residents can keep up to date with changes to the schedule, perhaps caused by bad weather, and reminds people they can find up to date information on the official website (www.iomtt.com), the information line 685888 and the dedicated TT Radio Service run by Manx Radio on 1368AM.
There is also a comprehensive TT Festival calendar covering all the official activities including a full practice and race schedule, the Villa Marina music and comedy festival events, the air displays and the start times for all the promenade activity.
It has been produced by the Department of Economic Development, in conjunction with the Department of Home Affairs and Department of Infrastructure.
Geoff Corkish MHK, the political member for Isle of Man Tourism, said their aim was to ensure all residents had a handy reference guide to everything they might need to know during the festival.
“The TT relies hugely on the goodwill and support of local people,” he said. “I hope the leaflet encourages as many people as possible to experience the many different aspects of the TT.”
