Sea Terminal the venue for volunteers presentation

by isleofman.com 22nd May 2010

The rewards to be gained from working for charities are being highlighted today (Saturday) at the start of Volunteers Week in the Isle of Man.

The Sea Terminal is the focal point for anyone who wants to find out what's involved in becoming a volunteer.

Visitors will see displays and stalls with information, manned by staff from Noble's hospital and representatives from 15 local charities, all of which would like to recruit more helpers.

Further events have been organised for later in the week, to celebrate the vital contribution made by those who give up their time to help others.

Volunteer service officer at the hospital Alison Lester says today's event is a chance for people to find out about a wide range of voluntary roles (play audio file):

The Volunteers Week presentation at the Sea Terminal runs from 10am until 4pm today.
