Last day of steam railway weekend

by isleofman.com 3rd May 2010

It's the last day of 'Rush Hour on the Railways', a special three day steam railway event.

As well as the normal timetabled services, additional trains have been added over the weekend, including the 'Maria 34' diesel tram and an engineering train.

There have also been special photo opportunities.

Today (Monday) there are five train departures from Douglas and Port Erin, with the locomotives Loch, Fenella, GH Wood and Hutchinson all in use.

There are tours of the workshop and signal box every 20 minutes from 9.30am to around 11.30am, with the possibility of more during the afternoon if there is sufficient demand. Tickets cost ?5.

There is also a chance to see some vintage buses, PD2 and Thorneycroft, which will be parked at Douglas station.
