More details on the Manx Election Trust should be published in the near future.
So says the campaign manager of a candidate in the forthcoming Douglas East by-election who is backed by the organisation.
Charles Lewin says he was approached some time ago by a number of business people who wanted to set up a body to promote good quality candidates in the Island's next general election in 2011.
However, their plans were then rushed through in order to make it operational in time for the by-election.
In a press release, the Trust says its general objectives include promoting good governance of the Island, a more equal distribution of wealth and to work for the better good of the Island and its people.
Mr Lewin says whilst the Trust will be open and transparent, the names of those individuals paying into it will remain unknown so they cannot influence any candidates.
But other details of the trust will be published shortly and he says they have nothing to hide.
