Manx Ultra athlete Bethany Clague is going strong in the John O'Groats to Land's End race.
The 869 mile "End to End" event is the longest ultra race in the UK this year and the 12 athletes who have signed up are attempting to run the distance over 15 consecutive days.
The race got underway at 6am yesterday (Fri) and despite damaging a calf muscle during training, which left her barley able to walk for the last two weeks, she completed day one from John O'Groats to Brora in 14 hours 50 minutes.
She described the 64 mile run as "hard work".
She set off again for Inverness this morning at 5.30 am, is going well and says it's "a wonderful day in Scotland".
The race has already claimed its first victim with one of the competitors dropping out yesterday.
Bethany is raising money for three Island charities. If you'd like to help you can contact her at bethany@manxcat.org.uk
