CHAT bus has 'great potential'

The launch of Age Concern's mobile community centre could be the start of a new era, taking services to the people, wherever they are in the Island.

The charity's CHAT bus is at last on the road after years of fund raising.

It boasts a lounge area with kitchenette and TV, along with an up to the minute IT suite and outdoor seating under a large awning.

The bus will travel around the Island, offering local communities advice, healthcare, training and somewhere to socialise.

Age Concern will fund the bus by hiring it out to other charities and businesses.

At a launch party, held at the Hilton Hotel, David Gawne from Crossroads Caring for Carers said the facility had great potential:
