Revised schedule for Port Jack work

by isleofman.com 30th April 2010

The task of repairing the retaining wall at Port Jack in Onchan has been postponed until the start of next week.

Work began last year to fill a large void behind the wall and stabilise the undermined structure, but was suspended in October due to the weather conditions.

Earlier this week, a five tonne excavator was due to be taken to the site by barge to undertake the excavation work, but was delayed due to the wind direction and generally poor weather conditions.

The site is now being prepared for the revised schedule.

Materials will be delivered to Port Jack over the next five weeks, but the Department of Infrastructure is hoping to keep traffic disruption to a minimise.
