by isleofman.com 29th April 2010

The third annual Guitarfest is set for this August, bringing together top calibre international performers and a wealth of local talent.

Organised by JonnoPromotions, with support from the Isle of Man Arts Council, the 'Fest' will take place from Friday 27th - Sunday 29th August at a number of venues around Douglas.

The opening night will see Dan Arborise's first Isle of Man performance, backed by award-winning folk duo Wingin' It.

On Saturday night, blues rockers The Hamsters will kick off their Jimi Hendrix 40th anniversary tour.

Bringing the Fest to a grand finale will be Modern Guitar Trio, a virtuoso group of Spanish style guitarists/composers comprising Roland Chadwick, Roland Gallery and Vincent Lindsay Clark. They will be supported by Liam Carter-Hawkins.

During the daytimes, there will be ample chance for local artists and bands to play on the Peter Norris stage in the Villa Marina Arcade, while a series of workshops will take place at the Peter Norris Music store.

Tickets for Guitarfest will go on sale in May. For more details, subscribe now to the JonnoPromotions mailing list - simply send an email with 'Subscribe' in the subject line to news@jonnopromotions.com
