Vandals in the west target boats

by isleofman.com 28th April 2010

Police are hunting vandals who badly damaged a boat in Peel Harbour and cut another one loose from the quay.

Officers in the west of the Island say a yellow and white sports boat was taken from the boat park at the back of the House of Manannan, launched from the Mill Road slip and deliberately sunk.

In the other incident, a blue and white fishing vessel called Oyster Catcher was released from its moorings on West Quay.

Police say both incidents happened between 6pm last Friday and 8am the following day.

They are asking for witnesses, or anyone who knows anything about what happened, to ring the police station in Peel, on 842208.
