Keys told empty hotel is being looked after

The future of the Castle Mona Hotel may become clearer later this year.

The issue of the landmark building on Douglas promenade was raised in the House of Keys, by Onchan MHK Peter Karran.

He asked Minister for Infrastructure Phil Gawne what further action was being taken to prevent the building falling into a state of dereliction.

Mr Gawne said regular checks were being made on the property by the owners and it was still being heated to ensure damp didn't become a problem.

He added that while he would like to see the hotel back in use, that wasn't within his power:
