Marathon Man Asks, 'Fancy Sharing a Pint?'

by isleofman.com 27th April 2010

Guy Wolstencroft, Manager of Manx Hidden Hearing in Onchan, will be running the Windermere Marathon on May 16th, and is asking people to show their support with an unusual donation.

Instead of pledging cash, Guy is inviting everyone to ‘share a pint’ with him - a pint of blood, that is!

Guy is aiming to share 1001 pints by the end of May.  The campaign started on April 20th and more than 200 people signed up in the first twenty-four hours, most of them first time donors.

Guy is encouraging anyone and everyone to support him: "The feeling of giving ‘hands on help’ is such an uplifting one.

"A small scratch, less than an hour of your time, and you are helping to save and enrich lives!

"You donate the blood and I will provide the sweat and tears!"

More information on how to make a donation can be found at www.gove.im/dhss/health/blood or by calling (01624) 650637.

If you would like to support Guy by sharing a pint, let him know by emailing him at shareapint@hotmail.com so he can keep a running total of the number of pints donated.

You can also keep up with Guy’s efforts on his Facebook Group, 'Fancy sharing a pint?'
