Foundation launches big drive to raise funds

by isleofman.com 27th April 2010

Street collections are taking place throughout the Island from today (Tuesday) to raise vital funds to keep a long established Manx charity afloat.

The Manx Foundation for the Physically Disabled is staging its first ever Awareness Week, during which it is asking the public to think about the daily challenges facing the Island's many disabled poeple.

The charity, based at Masham Court in Douglas, has launched a campaign to raise ?250,000 during 2010, after it nearly folded last autumn, before cutting services and selling assets to stay solvent.
