'Thank you' to parents, as schools return to normal

by isleofman.com 26th April 2010

The Department of Education and Children says everything should be back to normal in the Island's schools today (Monday).

Pupils of all ages can attend their usual classes, as the majority of staff left stranded by the travel disruption in the wake of the volcanic ash cloud are now back on the Island.

Last week, certain year groups at the two secondary schools in Douglas were given days off because of a teacher shortage.

Ballakermeen and St Ninian's still have a handful of missing teachers, but DEC says they will be able to cope.

Minister for Education and Children Eddie Teare is thanking parents for their understanding last week.
