Minehunter leaving Island after 'freedom' ceremony

by isleofman.com 26th April 2010

HMS Ramsey is due to leave the Isle of Man today (Monday), after a weekend to remember.

The Royal Navy Sandown Class minehunter is named after the town in the north of the Island, and on Saturday morning the honour of freedom of Entry was conferred on the vessel, her officers and crew.

The civic ceremony was followed by a parade through the streets of Ramsey, led by a guard of honour from the ship.

John Moss was there (play audio file):

HMS Ramsey is due to depart Victoria Pier in Douglas at 8.45am.
