Honour for HMS Ramsey and crew

Ramsey is staging a party with a naval theme today (Saturday), as the town confers the Freedom of Entry on its seaborne namesake.

HMS Ramsey and its crew are being presented with the honour in Parliament Square at 11am.

Before that, there's a chance to enjoy a parade through the town from Market Square, with the Royal Navy Guard and Castletown Metropolitan Silver Band.

Outgoing chairman of the local authority Sylvia Beattie is proud to be involved in the ceremony:
