The Department of Infrastructure is restarting repairs to the retaining wall at Port Jack next week (Monday 26th April).
Works carried out in 2009 included filling a large void behind the wall and stabilising the undermined wall structure, work was suspended in October due to the prevailing weather conditions.
A five tonne excavator will be taken to the site by barge to undertake the excavation work.
This element of the work will underpin the existing retaining wall which is then to be faced with concrete to provide improved strength and resistance to the sea conditions. Concrete will be delivered to the site by concrete pump.
Localised traffic management will be required at various times during the 5-week works to deliver materials to the site, every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum.
