A fire officer has been explaining some of the complicating factors crews had to deal with when tackling a blaze in Laxey this week.
A bonfire in the village threatened to burn out of control across a clifftop, sparking a full emergency response.
It took six hours to deal with the incident and there was disruption to the tram service as hoses were laid across tracks.
The Fire and Rescue Service is warning of the dangers of burning rubbish, instead of disposing of it safely, and station officer Nigel Fraser told Manx Radio about the extra perils the crews faced:
