Cushing new Peel Commissioner

Neil Cushing won yesterday's local authority election in Peel.

He beat Ian Davison in a two-way fight to replace Iaen Skidmore on the Commissioners.

Mr Cushing polled 448 votes to Mr Davison's 341.

There were 10 spoilt papers and the turnout was 22.7%.

Chartered accountant Mr Cushing will now serve on the Commissioners until April 2012.
