Peel goes to the polls

by isleofman.com 22nd April 2010

A steady trickle of voters has been reported heading to the polls in Peel this morning.

They're deciding who will replace former commissioner Iaen Skidmore who stepped down last month because of work commitments.

The two-way race between businessman Ian Davison and chartered accountant Neil Cushing is the second commissioner's election in six months.

The polling station at Corrin Hall in Derby Road opened at 8 o'clock this morning and will remain open for 12 hours.

Speaking outside the polling station locally based developer Jonathan Irving says he believes the commissioners have been doing a good job in difficult circumstances
