Ash won't affect weather in the long-term

The Met Office at Ronaldsway is describing the recent volcanic activity in Iceland as 'relatively minor', despite the chaos it has caused for travellers all over Europe.

United Kingdom and Isle of Man airspace reopened yesterday, after almost a week of disruption and cancellations.

But forecaster Neil Young says if the wind had been in a different direction Manx residents probably wouldn't have heard about the eruption.

He also says it's unlikely the cloud of ash will have a long-term affect on the weather:
