Chairman defends MEA's retail activities

There is no unfair competition, undercutting of prices or other sharp practices at the Manx Electricity Authority.

So says MEA chairman Quintin Gill, after facing questions on the authority's retail operations in Tynwald.

Peel MHK Tim Crookall said the loss-making showrooms were competing with struggling electrical shops.

But Mr Gill says the MEA's retail operations are part of the government's policy for the organisation:
