by isleofman.com 20th April 2010

The health minister has told Tynwald controlling new 'legal highs' is a never ending struggle.

David Anderson was responding to a question from North Douglas MHK John Houghton, who wanted to know what his department was doing about the drug known as 'Sparkle'.

Mr Anderson said little was known about the substance, which is thought to be some form of BZP.

However, no further action was needed as it was already covered by existing legislation (play audio file):

Mr Anderson said the situation would be kept under review.
