Limited services as air space reopens

by isleofman.com 19th April 2010

Isle of Man Airport and the Island's airspace reopened at 1pm today (Monday), but the authorities said Manx2.com was the only operator of scheduled flights which planned to run services.

Non scheduled operators, including general aviation and air taxi operators, were also given the go ahead, provided they could fly under 'visual flight operations'.

Manx2 said it would operate a shuttle service to and from Blackpool until 7pm, and a limited service to Belfast this afternoon.

Flybe and Aer Arran both made early announcements that they wouldn't be flying today.

Consideration with be given to tomorrow's services at around 8pm today, after the latest information has been received from the Volcanic Advisory Centre and the Met Office.
