by isleofman.com 19th April 2010

A motorcyclist has died in an accident involving three vehicles, on the Mountain Road near Creg-ny-Baa.

It happened about 250 metres north of the pub, towards Kate's Cottage, at around 2.45pm yesterday (Sunday).

Police say the motorcyle, a black Suzuki GSXR 1000, was travelling towards Douglas when it was involved in a collision with a black Subaru Impreza saloon, heading in the opposite direction.

The third vehicle, a white Mercedes Sprinter van, was being driven in the direction of Ramsey.

A stretch of road was closed for around six hours while police dealt with the incident.

They say the road was fairly busy at the time, and would like to speak to anybody who witnessed the collision, or saw any of the vehicles immediately before it happened.

Anybody who was outside the Creg-ny-Baa pub and can offer any information is also asked to get in touch.

The number for Police Headquarters is 631212.
