The recently appointed minister for education and children has confirmed the Children's Bill will be reviewed in the light of the results of a public consultation.
Eddie Teare was speaking ahead of two further public meetings, organised by the Positive Action Group, to discuss the implications of the proposed legislation.
Mr Teare, who inherited the bill from his predecessor, was asked by Manx Radio whether he was happy with the bill in its current form.
He said it would be wrong to assume it was perfect at this stage (play audio file):
The public meetings are entitled 'Should THEY tell YOU how to raise your children?' and are at the Civic Centre in Castletown on Monday (April 19) and the town hall in Ramsey next Thursday (April 22).
They start at 7.30pm, there is no admission charge and everyone is welcome to go along.
