Filipino 'Outreach' event postponed

by isleofman.com 16th April 2010

The cancellation of the vast majority of flights to and from the Isle of Man today (Friday) has led to the postponement of this weekend's third Consular Outreach programme for the local Filipino community.

The initiative gives Filipinos living on the Island a chance to discuss problems and sort out various issues with the Consul General from London, Maria Theresa Dizon de Vega.

It had been due to take place at the Manx Legion Club, on Market Hill in Douglas, on Saturday and Sunday.

The Filipino ambassador to the United Kingdom had been due to make his first visit to the Isle of Man, to coincide with the Outreach event.

Both visits will now be rearranged, for a date to be confirmed.

The Filipino community variety concert at Sulby Village Hall this weekend will go ahead as planned.
