As a successful Island-based company, airline Manx2.com took part in last week's Careers 2010 - the Island’s biggest showcase of employment, training and education opportunities - at the Villa Marina.

A joint initiative between the Departments of Education and Trade and Industry, the annual event attracts visits from the Island’s secondary school pupils, students from the Isle of Man College and the general public.

David Buck, Operations Manager Manx2.com, was on hand throughout the day for a steady stream of interest from a range of visitors, "Manx2.com employs 60 staff with customer services, reservations and operations departments all based at our hangar facility at Isle of Man Airport plus we rely strongly on a variety of local partners.

"As a Manx-based company, we are ideally placed to promote the benefits of local careers and Careers 2010 was an ideal platform to provide the youngsters with the best information and guidance to help them make informed choices about their chosen education and career paths."

Noel Hayes, Chairman of Manx2.com, said, "As an Isle of Man-based company it is vital that we, and the numerous local companies that we partner with, have access to a skilled and flexible workforce.

"This, along with our training ethos, maximizes our ability to contribute to the Island economy and help the Isle of Man continue to flourish."
