by isleofman.com 15th April 2010

A new hip hop theatre performance, 'Adventures in Anti Cool', is coming to Ballakermeen High School's Studio Theatre on 29th and 30th April.

Adventures in Anti Cool is performed by dancers Banxy and Curtis James (Knolove Productions) and includes three individual hip hop theatre performances.

Banxy will perform a new solo breakdance piece 'Ikky Wakk', while Knolove Productions present their solo 'Cool Rules', a "fierce, uncompromising tale of pride, fear and hope exploring the explosion of violence within our youth communities."

The whole evening is topped off with Adventures in Anti Cool, a fast and fun vignette of hip hop theatre.

Banxy and Curtis Knolove will be on the Island for the last week of April during which they will be holding dance workshops for secondary schools and local dance companies.

Emma Callin, Arts Development Manager said, "The Arts Council is once again providing an opportunity to enjoy forms of dance which are in a minority on the Isle of Man.  This exciting performance is not to be missed."

Tickets priced ?8.00 (?5.00 concession for students and children), are available now, telephone the ticket hotline on (01624) 600555.
