Arsonists to be sentenced next month

by isleofman.com 15th April 2010

A man and a child have appeared before Deemster Doyle charged with arson.

Eighteen-year-old Ian Michael Caven, of Grenaby Road in Bride, and a child who can't be named for legal reasons, admitted three offences.

In November last year, they set light to two cars on Andreas airfield and in January this year did the same to an agricultural building, at Ballasteen Farm in Andreas.

Later that month they also set fire to two wheelie bins on Jurby Road.

Caven was remanded in custody, and the child was sent to the secure unit at White Hoe until May 24, when they will be sentenced.
