Brand new 3D technology is to be used to bring a realism to footage of the world's most famous motorcycle road races which has never been seen before.
CinemaNX, the film financing and production company backed by the Isle of Man Government, has started work on its eighth feature film, to be called TT3D.
The film will follow the fortunes of the leading riders, and others, as they battle to conquer the famous TT mountain circuit.
It will be shot in the Isle of Man, England, Ireland and Los Angeles and promises to provide 'a unique insight into the lives and minds of modern day road racers'.
TT3D will be directed by acclaimed motor sports and commercials director Richard De Aragues, and will utilise a range of archive footage, along with the latest 3D technology and high definition equipment.
It's claimed that while the TT has been filmed before, 'only now do the tools exist that can do justice to those who have competed over the 37? mile course'.
Scheduled for release in 2011, the film is being produced by NX directors Steve Christian and Marc Samuelson.
New Minister for Economic Development Allan Bell is delighted his arrival at the department will coincide with the making of, what he calls, 'this most appropriate Manx film-documentary'.
