It's emerged a party of conference delegates cut short their stay in the Isle of Man over Easter, in a row over facilities at their hotel.
Around 70 members of the Royal Antediluvean Order of Buffaloes from the Midlands, the North West and North Wales had booked to stay at the Trevelyan Hotel on Queen's Promenade, Douglas from the Thursday before Easter until the following Tuesday.
But they left on the Saturday morning, claiming the hotel's heating, hot water and appliances were not up to scratch.
Secretary of the Buffaloes Isle of Man Lodge Colin Skillicorn says the delegates voted with their feet (play audio file):
A spokeswoman for the Trevelyan said the electrical problems were due to an unexpectedly high demand on the hotel's fuse board.
She said management had contacted the MEA to rectify the situation, and claimed the problem was contained to two of the hotel's four floors.
