An inquest has heard a 33-year-old Douglas man died as a result of hanging.
Civil servant Andrew David Robertson was found dead in a shower cubicle at the Arrandale Hotel in Hutchinson Square, on Sunday, March 28.
Evidence showed there was a ligature around his neck.
Coroner of inquests Alastair Montgomerie said a post mortem carried out by a local pathologist concluded the cause of death was asphyxiation due to hanging.
He said Mr Robertson's death was a genuine tragedy and expressed his condolences to his family.
Mr Montgomerie adjourned the inquest to allow police to conclude their investigations.
