The Board of the Isle of Man Post Office has appointed Mike Kelly, Chief Operating Officer, as Acting Chief Executive Officer for the next six months.

Mike has a wealth of experience with Isle of Man Post Office, having been with the business for 36 years.

The majority of Mike’s experience has been in operational and commercial roles and he has extensive knowledge in these areas.

Mike has been an Executive Director of Isle of Man Post Office since 1996 and has played a fundamental role in driving the business forward.

Meanwhile, Finance Director David Catlow will become Mike’s deputy.  David joined Isle of Man Post Office in 2001 and he too has a great deal of experience in a senior management role.

On his appointment, Mike said, "I am delighted to be taking on the role of Acting Chief Executive Officer.

"These are challenging times for postal authorities all over the world as the traditional postal business continues to decline.  However, new ways of creating revenue which complement our traditional niche markets are needed and there are a number of exciting opportunities which Isle of Man Post Office will be considering over the next twelve months.

"I look forward to being able to introduce these initiatives for our customers."
