Suspect questioned over alleged sex attack

Police are appealing for information after a woman claimed she was sexually assaulted on Douglas beach, in the early hours of yesterday (Sunday) morning.

Officers were called to Central Promenade at around 3.20am, where a woman alleged she had been attacked a short time earlier.

A 51-year-old man from Douglas has been arrested and was detained at Police Headquarters.

Officers are asking anybody who was on the promenade at the time, particularly near the Castle Mona Hotel, to get in touch with any information.
