Councillor says town has enough fast food

A Douglas councillor says he firmly opposes any more late-night takeaways on the town's promenade.

Ritchie McNicholl says he is against a proposed fast food outlet in Trevelyan House, and when the issue was discussed by councillors he recorded his vote against the facility.

He claims takeaways become hotspots for trouble, violence, litter and vandalism, and says the town already has more than enough of them.
