by isleofman.com 8th April 2010

An exhibition of artwork created by internees held on the Isle of Man during World War II will be on display from tomorrow (Friday).

Forced Journeys: Artists in Exile in Britain (c. 1933 - 45) features around 90 works by 35 artists, mostly of German and Austrian origin

The exhibition is taken from the Ben Uri Gallery in London, the capital's Jewish Museum of Art, and marks the 70th anniversary of the opening of the Island's internment camps, in May 1940.

It will be at the Sayle Gallery in the Villa Marina Colonnade.
