No East Douglas comeback for Delaney

by isleofman.com 8th April 2010

A retired member of Tynwald has moved to quash speculation he plans to return to the political arena.

Rumours have been rife that former MHK and MLC Dominic Delaney will contest next month's House of Keys by-election in East Douglas.

However, Mr Delaney is confirming he won’t be making a comeback (play audio file):

The candidates who have come forward so far are Kate Beecroft, Colin Cain, John Joughin, Chris Robertshaw and Kevin Woodford.

The seat is vacant following Phil Braidwood's elevation to the Legislative Council last month.

Nominations day is April 27, with polling a month later.
