Royal London 360° has helped a local primary school to buy a new minibus for pupils in its special unit.
Children who attend the ‘Rainbow Room’ at Ballacottier School in Farmhill, Douglas, will benefit from the 17-seater Vauxhall Movano minibus, which will be used to assist with activities which cannot be undertaken in the classroom.
These include taking pupils to swimming lessons, their weekly classes with Riding for the Disabled, and trips to cafes where they learn about socially acceptable behavior and interaction.
The seating arrangement can be changed within the minibus to allow seats to be added or taken out depending on how many pupils are travelling with wheelchairs.
Royal London 360° has donated ?500 towards the purchase price of the bus, alongside a number of other companies based in the Isle of Man.
Natalie Dutton, Head of Marketing at Royal London 360°, commented, "This vehicle really is a necessity for pupils of the Rainbow Room at Ballacottier School, and we are only too delighted to be able to support such a worthwhile project.
"I know the children will get a lot of use from the minibus, and the activities it will allow them to take part in will really benefit their education and social development."
