Daredevils Wanted for Urban Abseil

by isleofman.com 6th April 2010

Have you got what it takes to lower yourself from the top of one of the island’s tallest and most iconic buildings?

The Children’s Centre, The Royal Bank of Scotland International and 3FM have joined forces to come up with a terrific challenge that will appeal to thrill seekers all over the Island.

On 22nd May 2010, 100 brave people will be given the unique opportunity of a charity abseil from the roof of Royal Bank House on Victoria Street in Douglas.

Those who sign up for the challenge simply need to raise a minimum of ?100 in sponsorship, with all proceeds going to The Children’s Centre.

No previous experience is necessary; a dedicated team of expert instructors will be there to talk participants through the basics of abseiling, including how to control the speed of descent.

Victoria McEneaney, Regional Director at RBS International, said, "By signing up for this great challenge, you’ll be helping The Children’s Centre continue their fantastic work across the island, allowing them to put children, young people and families first, RBS International is pleased to support such a worthy cause".

To secure your place, simply visit www.three.fm or call Mark at The Childrens Centre on (01624) 631917.
