Cummins fourth at Brands Hatch

by isleofman.com 6th April 2010

Conor Cummins made a good start to his track season in the opening round of the National 1000cc Superstock Championship at Brands Hatch yesterday.

The Ramsey Rocket finished fourth, just a couple of hundredths of a second behind the second and third-placed riders.

Senior TT champion Steve Plater was way out in front in first, while John McGuinness came home in sixth.

Manxman Gavin Hunt was 22nd.

Despite suffering from a few teething problems with the new Triumph, Manx rider Mark Cringle powered his way through to complete the first round of the 2010 British Supersport Cup in a strong fourth place, and was 22nd overall in the main section of the championship.

Meanwhile, Isle of Man resident Neil Hodgson didn't have the best return to British Superbikes.

He crashed in the warm-up and didn't compete in the two races.
