As preparations continue for the HMS Ramsey Freedom of Entry ceremony later this month, further details of the ship's programme have been released.

She is due to arrive alongside Victoria Pier, Douglas, on Friday, April 23 at 12.30pm.

During the afternoon there will be conducted tours of the vessel for groups of students from local schools and the senior officer, Lieutenant Commander Steve Brown, will pay an official call on the Lieutenant Governor at Government House.

In the evening, the commander and his officers will host a cocktail party for invited guests, onboard ship.

On Saturday, April 24 a public ceremony to confer the Freedom of Entry on HMS Ramsey will take place at Ramsey Town Hall.

It will be at 11am and will be followed by a parade through the town led by an honour guard from the ship.

The following day the vessel will be open to members of the public from 10.30am to 1.30pm.

On the Sunday there will also be a football match between the crew of HMS Ramsey and Ramsey Old Boys, at the playing fields next to Scoill Ree Gorree, with kick off at 4.30pm.

The following day the vessel will leave the Island, setting off from Victoria Pier at 9.15am.
