Fight against 'legal highs' must go on - MHK

North Douglas MHK John Houghton is welcoming the banning of mephedrone in the Isle of Man, and the action being taken against other so called 'legal high' drugs.

From the beginning of this month, it became illegal to import, export, supply or possess 'plant food', as it is also known, or possess it with intent to supply.

Mephedrone has been dealt with temporarily under the Medicines Act, and Mr Houghton is pleased a new bill is due to go before the House of Keys which would allow swift action against any new 'legal highs' substances:
