History of transport on display

The Isle of Man's first Manx vintage transport museum opens its doors to the public today (Friday).

It's the culmination of a long-time project by a dedicated group of enthusiasts and features vehicles highlighting the Island's rich transport history, including buses, lorries and trams.

Around 25 public and commercial road vehicles are on display at premises in Jurby, including some on loan from the Department of Tourism and Leisure and others which are privately owned.

One of the men behind the project, Richard Davis, says it's time the public was able to see some fascinating exhibits, including transport related artefacts, which have been hidden away:
