MEDS could fall victim to health cuts

On his first day in post the new health minister is warning his department will have to look at cutting the late night GP service.

Former Transport Minister David Anderson has confirmed he is looking at various cost cutting measures, including a possible scaling down of the Manx Emergency Doctors' Service.

MEDS is based at Noble's Hospital and provides out of hours, all-Island GP coverage.

Mr Anderson says its cost might prove prohibitive:
