No Vehicles at Sulby Claddagh

by isleofman.com 1st April 2010

Due to extremely wet ground conditions, the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture (formerly the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry) has suspended vehicular access onto the Sulby Claddagh until further notice.

The Department will review the situation following the Easter Weekend.

The Department is pleased to advise the public that minor improvement works to the toilet block at the Claddagh are now complete and the

facilities will reopen to visitors on Thursday 1st April.

The Water Authority hopes to complete the installation of a new water supply to the toilet block in the next few weeks.

Subject to Tynwald approval at its April sitting, the Department hopes to introduce a set of new management proposals for the Claddagh.

The proposed changes follow several years of public consultation and planning on the part of the Department and are to be introduced to bring greater controls to the site.

Further information can be obtained from the Forestry, Amenity and Lands Division at Thie Slieau Whallian, Foxdale Road, St. John’s - call (01624) 685835.
