Pupils at Ramsey Grammar School are to find out more about the dangers of drug abuse.
Police in the town have been working with the school to arrange two drug awareness days for year nine pupils.
They will take place at the school on Tuesday and Wednesday (March 30 and 31), as part of the cross curricular week.
Each day will consist of six sessions, incorporating core subjects such as drama, English, history and science.
On Wednesday there will be a demonstration by dogs from the Drug Trafficking Unit, followed by interviews concerning the change in the law relating to the so-called 'legal high' drug mephadrone, also known as 'plant food'.
Police say a lot of the content for the two days will be based on the misuse of 'plant food', which will be outlawed on April 1.
It's hoped that by taking part in the activities youngsters will be discouraged from using mephadrone or any other drugs.
Guests will include South Douglas MHK Bill Malarkey and the schools drug and alcohol liaison officer, Orla O’Donoghue.
