Milner's Tower lights up Port Erin

by isleofman.com 28th March 2010

Reaction to a trial illumination of Milner's Tower seems to have been broadly positive.

The popular landmark on Bradda Head in Port Erin was lit up for a period on Thursday evening in an experiment to gauge public opinion.

The work was carried out by the MEA, in conjunction with lighting firm Urbis on behalf of the Port Erin Regeneration Committee.

Chairman of the Authority, Quintin Gill MHK, says if it were to become a permanent feature the lights would be solar powered.

That decision will now be made by the Regeneration Committee taking the views received into account.
