Miners close gap

Laxey kept alive their title hopes with a 5-2 win at Old Boys on Saturday.

The Miners consolidated second place in the Sure Mobile Premier League to close the gap on leaders Rushen to eight points.

Ashley Webster (two penalties), Lee Cowley, Chris Brown and Jamie Clague were the Miners' marksmen. Robbie Ward and Callum Stewart found the net for Old Boys.

Barry Hardinge and Jonathan Broad were on target as Gymns won 2-0 at relegated battlers Union Mills and Alex Crawley hit a second half double as Castletown won well by the same scoreline at Corinthians.
