MHK speaks of his 'reward' from chief minister

by isleofman.com 26th March 2010

It's been confirmed David Cannan wasn't offered a government post in the new restructured system because a number of his colleagues in Tynwald didn't want to work with him.

The position was made clear in a letter to the Michael MHK from Chief Minister Tony Brown.

Along with Onchan MHK Peter Karran, Mr Cannan is the only Tynwald member not to be given a role in a list of appointments announced today.

Mr Cannan earlier suggested to John Moss that his vigorous campaigning to help save the Reciprocal Health Agreement was the real reason for him being sidelined (play audio file):

The new structure will take effect from April 1.
