Ferry operator ready for summer season

Fastcraft services to Liverpool are due to resume today, following the overnight return of the Ben-My-Chree from her biennial overhaul.

The Steam Packet flagship has been out of circulation for three weeks, during which the fastcraft Manannan has been operating between Douglas and Heysham.

Manannan will switch to the Liverpool route from today, and will be joined by Snaefell in the middle of next month.

Steam Packet chief executive officer Mark Woodward says the company's fastcraft provide an invaluable service:
